JR and Jim Hommer, 1999

Hommer Tool & Mfg. Inc. was founded in 1983 by Jim Hommer, a mold maker by trade and a talented tool maker. It was his vision to serve the injection molding industry by offering prompt solutions and impeccable service.  Jim instilled a culture of “never good enough.” He never settled for less with his people, equipment or products.

In 1993, Jim’s son, JR Hommer, officially joined the company.  JR took over as operations manager in 1997 and assumed the position of vice president in 1999.  He served as VP of Hommer Tool for more than 10 years. Through JR’s hard work and dedication, he managed to double the business during that time.

In 2010, Jim Hommer retired, and JR became president of the company. Since then, he has continued to build on their success, firmly establishing Hommer Tool as a leader in the manufacturing industry. JR built upon what his father started and created an expert team dedicated to manufacturing the best quality, custom tooling -- made on time and exactly to your specifications.
